American Primitive Furniture
We specialize in good quality, "room ready", authentic
American primitive furniture, many pieces predates the 1800s.
The term "Country Americana" implies that only artifacts
made and used in early America should be considered "Country"
or sometimes referred to as "Primitive". To a certain
extent that analogy is correct. However, many pieces that embody
hand crafted features were in fact produced in communities outside
of the "rural country". Over time these items has been
lumped under the general collecting title of "Country"
or "Primitive" because they reflect our yearning for the
charm and nostalgia of the early days of American history.
American "Country-Primitive" items are generally placed
in the early to mid 19th century.
